The Herbal Workshop began in a little cabin in the woods in the Pacific Northwest where soaps were made on the stovetop. I fell in love with soapmaking in 2009 while going to a biodynamic agriculture school in the midwest, Michael Fields Agricultural Institute. I began making my own soaps in 2012 and decided to name my business after a job I had in upstate New York as a biodynamic healing gardens manager at The Center For Discovery which serves medically-frail and autistic populations in a wholistic way. Culinary, medicinal and ornamental gardens surround The Center and a group of men and women residents process herbs from the gardens into teas, spice blends and more in "The Herbal Workshop." 

Currently my little studio is just down the road from the cabin, still on Whidbey Island, Washington. 

I love to make high-quality bath and bodycare using organic, sustainable, and all natural ingredients. Organic plant oils with skin-nourishing properties as the base, pure essential oils for scent, aromatherapeutic and skin-health value, and herbs and clays for colors, texture, and skin-benefitting properties.
